Before I owned my own car I was able to travel by trains and buses as a child. While I've had a reliable vehicle for many years, it's still thrilling to be in the driver's seat. Renting a car provides you with more freedom as well as flights and private taxis can get you closer to your destination faster however there are plenty of good reasons to explore the world via trains or buses, if your destination allows it. Five of my favorite reasons to travel by public transport for travel:Real people are available for you to meet You are most likely to meet locals on buses and trains. I am often distracted by conversations with other travelers whenever I travel to a new place. It's fine, but to learn about the area, you have to meet locals too and it's very easy to engage in conversation while on the subway or bus. Investigate great article for effective information public transportation now. Maybe it's just me but I've found that people are more welcoming on buses and trains than on planes. It's been a long day of flying that by the time I board my plane, I feel like an uncontrollable zombie. I am ready to turn off everyone and get lost within my "portable electronic gadget" when they allow me. It's probably just me. Recently, I have hated flying! 2. The views are better. It is possible to sit down! Most of the time, the trains or buses can connect the most popular sights of the cities and allow you to understand the layout of the land before you set out to explore the neighborhoods within. Subterranean subways are wonderful, but you can't see many. Additionally, you don't need to cover as many miles or walk through as many hills This is an advantage in cities such as Lisbon as well as San Francisco! Decor, quirky drivers, and funky drivers Many times bus drivers (particularly in regions where buses are independently owned) will show their personality within the vehicle. The buses may be creatively painted in bright colors on the exterior and the space for the driver will be all decked out as a house away from home. Velour curtains have been seen covering the driver's room as well as altars to honor Buddha or the Virgin Mary photographs of family members, as well as safety amulets. If you are seated in the to the front, the drivers are often happy to talk to you to break the monotony of their route and make sure you're at the right stop. It's the way that other travelers travel all over the world. If you're in a car-centric culture like the United States, it is important to remember that not everyone in the world can afford a car. Trains and buses are the way that people usually reach where they want to go, both at home and abroad. This makes cities more beautiful. Now this one comes from my perspective as an environmentalist and urban planner therefore, excuse my geekiness. Public transportation can reduce the use of private vehicles, which in turn leads to less pollution and better living conditions for the people who use. By paying the costs to use municipal public transportation lines are an opportunity to vote in support of the expansion of the system. If there is no use for the system, no legislator is going to vote for improvements!
